Stuart Maynard has emerged as the early favourite to become the next Forest Green Rovers manager, according to BetVictor.
The former York City boss is priced at 2/1 to take over at The New Lawn following Robbie Savage’s departure to Peterborough, which was confirmed by Forest Green chairman Dale Vince this week but is yet to be officially confirmed by the League One strugglers.
Maynard heads a list of 20 contenders named in the latest BetVictor betting, with axed Peterborough boss Luke Williams and current Worthing boss Adam Hinshelwood both priced at 4/1.
A group of five candidates are next at 8/1, with former Forest Green boss Rob Edwards, Darren Ferguson, Paul Hurst, Michael Duff and Lee Grant all featuring prominently in the market. Pete Wild is priced at 10/1, followed by Noel Hunt at 12/1.
Former Sheffield Wednesday and Bradford City boss Darren Moore and Dean Holden are both 14/1, while Lee Allinson, Keith Curle and Jody Morris are priced at 16/1.
The longer-priced contenders include Boreham Wood boss Luke Garrard, Ryan Lowe, Mark Kennedy, Chris Coleman and Simon Rusk, all at 25/1.
