JEEWAKA Sashin was dismissed just one run short of a century and followed up with 3-21 for six as Frocester 2nds continued their improved form in WEPL’s Gloucestershire division with a 23-run home triumph against promoted Langford.

There was also 46 from Rhys Lamplugh and a return of 3-28 from Shafiq Maroofkhel for Frocester who moved up sixth to ease their relegation concerns.

Leaders Tewkesbury romped in by six wickets at home to Rockhampton, Wade Ridsdale capturing 3-11 from ten but second placed Gloucester lost ground with a 41-run home upset against Bourton Vale for whom Ollie Whiteley hit 71 and bagged 4-36.

Third placed Chipping Sodbury dispatched lowly Corse & Staunton by 213 runs, Jiwanjot Singh top scoring on 82 and Eddie Holden taking 4-35 while Charlton Kings were 40-run victors at Stroud, Matt Luxton dominating with an unbeaten 102 off 94 (12 fours, two sixes).

In Premier One, Bristol defeated bottom side Frocester by seven wickets, Louie Shaw and Tommy Probert taking three wickets apiece, but Bishopston were trumped by 115 runs at home to Taunton St Andrews.

Bedminster were the most emphatic winners of the day, crushing Potterne by 10 wickets while leaders Bath’s game at Burbage & Easton Royal was abandoned because of rain, allowing Bridgwater to take pole position courtesy of a seven-run success at Lansdown.

ASTIE Bolton finished with tremendous figures of 7-24 from eight but still finished on the losing side as Haresfield Gladiators succumbed by 60 runs at home to leaders Cam 2nds in Division Seven of the AMS Gloucestershire County League.

Bolton’s efforts helped reduce Cam to 160 all out, opener Denis Booth top scoring on 53. But three wickets apiece for Dane Hall and Steve Rice then helped dismiss Haresfield for 100.

Ryan Bignall, meanwhile, grabbed a hat-trick en route to fine figures of 5-13 from eight for Woodmancote who breezed past Stroud 2nds by nine wickets in Division Four.

Stroud were 34-1 after eight when Bignall was introduced to the attack and made an instant impression with his second, third and fourth deliveries.

And he was also on a hat-trick in his sixth over, taking two in two, as the visitors folded to 78 all out ahead of Barron De Rose compiling an unbeaten 45 to secure the points.

Chris Burrow hammered an unbeaten 118 (seven fours, six sixes) for Charlton Kings 2nds who dispatched their Corse & Staunton counterparts by 68 runs, Karan Sharma bagging 4-18.

And in Division Three, Scott Tremain produced one of the innings of the day for leaders Dumbleton 2nds, finishing unbeaten on 145.

The opener hit 20 fours and two sixes to help set up a 197-run home success over Dymock.

Ullenwood Bharat boosted their promotion hopes with a 116-run home defeat of rivals Hatherley & Reddings 2nds, Mahesh Shetty hitting 60 and Jitesh Thammisetti claiming 4-10.

King’s Stanley had their lead at the top of Division Six cut to five points after a two-wicket home setback against closest rivals Langford 2nds, despite a fine return of 4-23 from eight by Gavin Dean.
