Amnesty International ( mid – Glos group) partnered with Stroud Brewery for a great night of music.
Albino Tarantino got the evening off to a rousing start. Moscow Drug Club followed with a wide-ranging set drawing inspiration from Berlin Cabaret to Gipsy Jazz, from Eartha Kitt to Tom Waits, ending with a moving and powerful rendering of Leonard Cohen’s “ Dance me to the end of Love. ”
The gig was sold out and the bands rapturously received – a heart-lifting night.
Mid Glos Amnesty’s next event is a Write for Rights Evening at Star Anise on Wednesday 14th December, from 7 pm. The group will be sending messages of hope to people oppressed and imprisoned for supporting Human Rights.
