From Eartha Kitt to Leonard Cohen, Amnesty partner with Stroud Brewery for a great night of music

Amnesty International ( mid – Glos group) partnered with Stroud Brewery for a great night of music.

Albino Tarantino got the evening off to a rousing start.  Moscow Drug Club followed with a wide-ranging set drawing inspiration from Berlin Cabaret to Gipsy Jazz, from Eartha Kitt to Tom Waits,  ending with a moving and powerful rendering of Leonard Cohen’s “ Dance me to the end of Love. ”

The gig was sold out and the bands rapturously received – a heart-lifting night.

Mid Glos Amnesty’s next event is a Write for Rights Evening at Star Anise on Wednesday 14th December, from 7 pm. The group will be sending messages of hope to people oppressed and imprisoned for supporting Human Rights.

Mince pies and mulled wine will be on sale in the café. The group meets on 2nd Wednesday in the month at Star Anise Café, GL5 1QG, and welcomes new members: Instagram midglosamnesty; Facebook: Amnesty International mid Gloucestershire group.
