Game on: Forest Green v Swindon goes ahead despite international call-ups

Forest Green’s League Two fixture next weekend at home to west country rivals Swindon Town will go ahead despite the number of players away on international duty.

The game is due to be shown live on Sky Sports on Saturday at the earlier time of 12pm. Swindon were keen for the game to be postponed with a quartet of players absent due to international duty.

Ben Garner’s side who beat Joey Barton’s Bristol Rovers 3-1 on Saturday are set to be missing Jonny Williams, Anthony Grant, Alex Gilbert, and former Forest Green loanee goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott. Rovers will be without Ebou Adams after his call-up to the Gambia squad.

It has been reported that Swindon entered discussions with the EFL, Forest Green, and Sky Sports about postponing, but the game will be played.

Clubs can usually postpone a game due to international call-ups, but this is not the case when a game is picked for TV.
