The boss of a well-known tyre garage has bid a fond farewell to his customers.
For 40 years Martin Elliott has built up an excellent reputation at ATS Euromaster in Dudbridge, Stroud, serving generations of car drivers over the decades.
Martin, who is fondly called Dougal after the madcap dog on legendary 1960s and 70’s children’s TV show the Magic Roundabout, said: “I would just like to thank all of my many customers over the last 40 years for their custom.”
Martin, who played rugby for Cainscross, thanked his staff for their support during his lengthy stint at ATS, he added: “Thanks to all the boys and girls that I have worked with over the years for all your support and hard work.”
Tributes have poured in on social media for popular Martin, work colleague Ian Taylor said: “I couldn’t have asked for a better boss or mentor over the thirty year’s we worked together, wishing you all the best in your new venture. You’ll always be boss, thanks for everything you’ve done and you will missed by us all.”
Roger Davies said: “You are a true gentleman and a great people person and my time working along side you was one of great memories especially the chauffeur part.”
Customer Nick Rimmer said: “Good luck on your next part, thanks for all your help over the years.”
Kelle Stevens said: “Good luck Martin, I thought you were part of the furniture. All the best for adventures new.”
