Stroud Subscription Rooms is hosting a Geology Day.
The free event, organised by Stroud Town Council, will feature experts from The Museum in the Park, Gloucestershire Geology Trust , Cheltenham Mineral & Geological Society, who will be on hand to help you identify your finds and tell you the safe places to look for fossils in the area.
There will also be activities for children, a chance to see some amazing finds unearthed in the Cotswolds and advice on how to clean up and protect your fossils.
The event takes place on Saturday, February 26th, 10 am-4 pm.
“There is something magical about a fossil, to think that you are handling a creature or a plant that was alive millions of years ago,” said Geology expert Pete Bradshaw, who works for the Town Council’s Green Spaces team.
