Golden Valley CrossFit, located just outside Nailsworth at Spring Mill Business Park – just past the Garden Centre on the Avening Road – is offering a new approach to fitness – one that combines expert coaching, a social community, and flexible scheduling for all ages and fitness levels.
Founder Ed Lucas explained his vision: “I started Golden Valley CrossFit to create more than just a gym. I wanted a place where people feel supported, challenged, and part of a community.”

Unlike conventional gyms where members often work out alone, Golden Valley CrossFit emphasises coaching in a group environment: “We run group exercise classes of 12 to 15 people for all ages, all fitness levels.
“We don’t just hand you a program and send you off,” said Ed.
“In our classes, I make sure every movement is done safely, effectively, and in a way that works for your fitness level.”

The gym also focuses on the social benefits of group fitness: “The best part? The people. Our members cheer each other on, hold each other accountable, and genuinely enjoy spending time together. Fitness becomes social, fun, and motivating,” explained Ed.

Golden Valley CrossFit offers classes throughout the day, from 6am to 7.30pm, making it easy for members to fit fitness into their schedules.
“We make it easy to fit fitness into your life. With classes from 6am to 7.30pm, you don’t need to plan anything – just show up and I’ll guide you every step of the way,” said Ed.
Membership options include flexible packages, with most members choosing the unlimited membership at £135 per month.

“Yes, it costs more than a regular gym – but the value is huge. You’re not just paying for access – you’re paying for coaching, community, and results that truly last,” added Ed.
Ed’s ultimate goal is to empower members with knowledge and confidence.
“My goal is simple: I want to teach you so much that you could train on your own – but I hope you’ll stay because you love it here,” he said.
“Come and give it a try. I’m confident you’ll love the classes, the people, and the results.”
Golden Valley CrossFit runs small group classes of 12–15 people for all ages and fitness levels. Members and newcomers alike are encouraged to try a class and experience the difference for themselves.
