Hosted by the Cotswold Book Room in Wotton-under-Edge, author and Stroud Times feature writer Simon Hacker held a book signing on Saturday for his new supernatural thriller, The Underbrothers.

Gideon York, who runs the book shop with his wife Kathy, said: “It was wonderful to hold today’s event – we are always keen to provide a platform and talking space for new fiction, especially from local authors.”

Simon, who lives in Wotton and based the novel on creepy locations around the Stroud area, said: “Working on the novel, it was as easy to feel as locked away as the hidden characters I created. It was wonderful to see how the book can actually connect to people out in the real world!”
