Saturday’s open day at the Ancient Ram Inn in Wotton-under-Edge proved to be the most popular of the year.

Visitors, some wearing fancy dress, had a chance to look around the former pub that has an international reputation as a paranormal hotspot.

“It’s been unbelievable – it’s the busiest ever,” said Caroline Humphries, owner of the Ancient Ram Inn.

“I couldn’t see the end of the queue when I opened the door, it was so long. People were really excited about getting in. I’ve got a team of volunteers helping out and they’re having just as much fun as the customers.”
