Football fans and collectors alike will have a rare opportunity to own a piece of sporting history this week, as a signed photograph of England’s legendary 1966 World Cup-winning team goes under the hammer at Wotton Auction Rooms.
The limited edition photograph features the signatures of some of the nation’s most iconic players, including captain Sir Bobby Moore, Alan Ball, Martin Peters, Ray Wilson, Gordon Banks, Jack Charlton, Bobby Charlton, Roger Hunt, Nobby Stiles and George Cohen. The team famously secured England’s only major international football triumph with a 4–2 victory over West Germany after extra time at Wembley Stadium.

Joseph Trinder, Managing Director and auctioneer at Wotton Auction Rooms, said: “This photograph and print represent the nation’s greatest ever football triumph. I’m sure this piece of sporting history will resonate not only with sports fans but with the wider public. 1966 remains a significant year in our history, and this item captures an iconic moment in time.”
In addition to the World Cup memorabilia, the auction will also feature a signed photograph of former England striker Michael Owen, who enjoyed a distinguished career with Liverpool and Manchester United.

Further highlights include a framed compilation photograph signed by former world boxing champion Ricky Hatton, affectionately known as “The Hitman,” making this sale an exciting event for both football and boxing enthusiasts.
The auction is expected to attract strong interest from collectors, sports fans and investors seeking unique and meaningful memorabilia.
The sporting items will go under the hammer at Wotton Auction Rooms on Wednesday, April 8th.
