Horsley Fete set to return

MOST READ

This year’s Grand Village Fete and Produce Show in Horsley is set to be a tail-wagging, foot-tapping, prize-winning extravaganza, the first since 2019.

All the usual fun on the 17th September including Morris Dancing from all female ‘Boss Morris’ www.bossmorris.com, massive tug o’ war, lots of woofing, sniffing and misbehaviour in the fun dog show (kindly sponsored by George Veterinary Group), bouncy castle, pony rides, face-painting, bell-ringing and more.

If that’s not enough, why not enter the raffle and explore the stalls? There will be eco-friendly info and activities, local produce and crafts products; and second-hand stalls for toys, books, clothes and bric-a-brac.

There will be plenty to do whilst munching on BBQ, cake and Ice-cream, washed down with tea; or even something more exciting from the bar.

Aside from the entertainment in the haybales ring, the locally famous Craft and Produce Show will be going on in the 3-in-1 (the church). Competition at this year’s event is likely to be stiff; as it’s the first one since 2019, so villagers have had plenty of time to hone their skills in baking, gardening and crafting.

You can expect magnificent marrows; beautiful blooms, bake-off worthy biscuits and amazing craft. There are adults and kids’ classes and you don’t need to live in Horsley to enter.

Whether or not you win the raffle or ‘strangest shaped vegetable’ competition, you can feel good knowing that all show proceeds go to local causes including the Horsley 3-in-1 (church and community venue).
