OLLIE Horne plundered an unbeaten 67 off only 30 balls to secure an unforgettable three-wicket win for Dumbleton away to Painswick in WEPL Premier Two Glos/Wilts.

The visitors went into the final five overs needing an unlikely 75 runs to make it two from two, but Horne went on the charge in memorable style to bank the points with two balls to spare.

Batting at eight, he smashed five fours and four sixes including a maximum to secure the victory, Indiana Jerram playing a crucial supporting role with 16 off eight in their unbroken stand of 78.

Earlier, opener Dan Holland compiled 107 from 116 (15 fours, one six) and Aaron Tomson hit 72 from 64 before Horne’s fireworks.

Painswick, who won the toss, reached 327-7 from their 50 with Luke Woolway top scoring on 105 from 100 (nine fours, five sixes) while there was also a quick-fire unbeaten 76 off 43 from Hampshire’s Benny Howell.

Promoted Tewkesbury opened their account thanks to a fine two-wicket win with two balls to spare away to Hatherley & Reddings.

The home side, who won the toss, totalled 239 thanks mainly to Ganesh Gadugu (64) and Gloucestershire’s Jack Taylor (54) as Alex Oliver bagged 3-45 from his ten.

Tewkesbury, in reply, were on the back foot at 30-2 before Josh Richards (77) and Louis Whitmore (51) launched a recovery.

But wickets then fell at regular intervals and it needed all the experience of Wade Ridsdale(37 not) to guide the visitors to the spoils and foil Joel Price (3-33 from seven).

Cheltenham, meanwhile, folded to a four-wicket setback away to Royal Wootton Bassett despite 82 from James Boyle.

Frocester made it two from two in Premier One with an exciting 12-run home triumph over Bristol.

But the last three wickets fell in eight balls for just one run, including Richie Cave dismissing visiting captain Louie Shaw whose 102 off 115 featured 12 fours and two sixes.

Promoted Downend came up 83 runs short away to Bedminster, but fellow newcomers Thornbury were 14-run home victors against Bridgwater, brothers Josh (95) and Harry Thomas (76) shining with the bat before Harry Donelan took 3-37 including the crucial wicket of Somerset’s Will Smeed.

Teenage leg spinner Nick Chatler (6-52) was the hero as Twyford House held their nerve for a low scoring four-run home defeat of Frenchay, Knowle trumped Bradley Stoke & Almondsbury by 155 runs and Brislington were three wicket home winners against Bedminster 2nds.

ADEKO Collymore crashed a second successive unbeaten century for Bibury who made it two from two with a 52-run triumph away to Rockhampton 3rds in Division Six B of the Gloucesteshire Cricket League.

Fresh from an unbeaten 135 on the opening weekend of the season at home to Oakridge, Collymore followed up with 131 not out in another comfortable win for the village side.
