What better way to spend a warm dry English Sunday afternoon than at a classic car show in the grounds of a beautiful house and gardens, at Gloucester’s Highnam Court, all in aid of a great charitable cause, the Pied Piper Appeal. This is a leading children’s charity in Gloucestershire. Their mission is to make a difference to the lives sick and disabled children in the county, writes Rich Kelsey.

Sunday’s event was very busy with enthusiasts and families enjoying the show and weather. More than 400 classic vehicles, vintage bikes, and Gloucestershire Police and Fire vehicles were on show, along with retail stalls selling car memorabilia. Other attractions included model steam traction engine rides, go-karts, and a sculpture trail, including Highnam Courts famous rose gardens and lake walks. Also, Performances from Rock Choir, Got 2 Sing, Belmont School Choir, and plenty of food and drink stalls – gave punters a fully fuelled day of action.
Many vehicles whetted the appetite of the public from vintage to classic cars, and modern machines ranging from Lamborghinis, TVRs, Subarus, Minis, Lotuses, Austins and Morrises of all marques, Triumph TRs and Stags, MGs, Bentleys, Aston Martins, American, Eastern Europeans, German and Japanese metal. Also Jaguars from old to modern, Land Rovers, Rolls Royce’s etc – and that’s just only part of what was on show.
Thanks to the organisers, volunteers and exhibitors for putting on this brilliant annual popular event – especially for such a worthy cause.
