Important membership update for Stratford Park Leisure Centre

Stroud District Council will take over the management of Stratford Park Leisure Centre from Everyone Active in November.

In an email sent to members, current operators Everyone Active assured customers that their fitness membership will continue at the normal rate.

The email read: “Rest assured, you do not need to take any action for your fitness membership to continue as normal at Stratford Park Leisure Centre, at the same rate. However, you will no longer be able to use Everyone Active sites as part of your membership.

“Everyone Active will collect your direct debit payment on October 1st, 2024. We will be in contact again about future direct debit collections.

“Thank you again for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you at an Everyone Active centre in the future.”

It will be the first time the council has run it directly since 1992. The Leisure Centre and outdoor pool will undergo £2.7million worth of investment as part of a five-year repair programme to improve the 1975 centre and 1936 outdoor pool.

Initially the funding will pay for brickwork repairs, roofing, decoration, doors, flooring, air conditioning upgrades, lighting, and the external toilet block at the leisure centre. It will also pay for repair of the Lido ‘tank’ and replacement of the Lido pumps and plant which are more than 80 years old.

Year one will see £1.3million-worth of critical repairs and upgrades, with preventative maintenance after this. The Council will also start work on a feasibility study on making large scale changes in the longer term. These changes will improve the overall experience for users, attract more visitors, and increase the centre’s income.
