In pictures: autumn colour at Stratford Park

Photographer Matt Bigwood enjoyed the autumn sunlight and took these pictures around Stratford Park and Lake on Friday.

The 56-acre site in Stroud, including the mansion house, was bought by Stroud Urban District Council in 1935, the predecessor to Stroud District Council (SDC). The 17th century mansion house is now home to the Museum in the Park, which opened in 2001.

Stratford Park has more than 800 trees, including Cedar of Lebanon, Wellingtonias, Western Red Cedars and Tulip trees, and it’s believed some of the trees were a shared order with Westonbirt Arboretum in the 1890s.
