Remembrance Day marked the return of pre-pandemic numbers of veterans, military personnel, and visitors at a service at Park Gardens, Slad Road this morning.
Rev Graham Stacey of Stroud Parish Churches officiated the ceremony, with Stroud Mayor Kevin Cranston, SDC leader Doina Cornell and former Stroud MP David Drew laying wreaths alongside military personnel.
The Stroud war memorial commemorates the residents of the town who were killed or reported missing in the First and the Second World Wars and in Northern Ireland.
Services were scaled back last year because of the pandemic, with the Royal British Legion advising the public to take part remotely by displaying a poppy in their window.
