Hundreds of people from the newly formed Whiteshill and Ruscombe Community Solidarity group gathered to oppose the arrival of controversial speaker Katie Hopkins.
The large group of concerned residents and supporters gathered outside The Star Inn in Whiteshill on Thursday night to respond to the hosting of an event featuring Hopkins, who returned to the pub for a second time in under a year.
A spokesperson for the group said: “The demonstration was a calm and peaceful display of community solidarity, which disbanded at 8pm, the start time of the event.
“The police were in attendance, having liaised with all parties prior to the protest.
“Protestors withdrew to St Paul’s church for tea and cake whilst the police remained in attendance.”
The show was part of Katie Hopkins’ 2024 Silly Cow Tour.
