Photographer Simon Pizzey was up with the lark and joined hundreds of people on Rodborough Common as Boss Morris and Miserden Morris greeted the sunrise on May Day to mark the start of summer.

A poem by author Laurie Lee was read, flowers were handed around and dancers washed their faces in the morning dew.
