The government’s announcement that it plans to send asylum seekers illegally entering the UK to Rwanda sparked a protest in Stroud on Saturday.

SDC leader Doina Cornell led the protest from Kendrick Street after it was reported the UK is set to pay Rwanda £120m and refugees could be sent to east Africa within weeks.

Photographer Simon Pizzey captured the protest which featured music from the Stroud Red Band.
