Shortwood United won the annual John Hannis Memorial match, beating Taverners 4-1 at Meadowbank Stadium this afternoon, Saturday.

Luke Soule who has returned to Shortwood for a second spell from Tuffley Rovers, opened the scoring on 31 minutes and captain Jacob Nowell added a second soon after.

A raft of changes at the break saw Taverners pull a goal back through Jamie Marriott. However, Shortwood made it 3-1 when Dylan Miles slammed home. Kieran Marks added a fourth for Mat Blythe’s side with five minutes to go.

Matt Bigwood captured the best of the action in our match gallery.
