England netball icon Serena Guthrie brought her world-class expertise to the sidelines today as she coached the Jersey Jets in an exhilarating South West Regional League clash against the Randwick Embers at Archway School.

The match, played on Randwick’s newly refurbished court, was closely contested throughout. Randwick led into the second half, but the Jets fought back fiercely in the final quarter to secure a five-goal victory. Despite the loss, Serena was full of praise for the Randwick squad, commending their skill, resilience, and exceptional teamwork.

The visit offered an unforgettable experience for Randwick club members and spectators, many of whom were star-struck to meet one of England’s netball greats in Stroud. The match also coincided with International Women’s Day, highlighting the skill, speed, and competitive spirit of women’s sport in the region.

“This was more than just a game,” said a Randwick club spokesperson. “Having Serena here to share her expertise and inspire both players and fans made it a memorable celebration of teamwork, resilience, and women’s sport.”
