Today marks the 60th anniversary of The Beatles’ first concert at Stroud Subscription Rooms.
Sir Paul McCartney insisted it was the worst concert in the history of the band, but they still returned to the Subs six months later and performed again in Stroud.
So, Stroud Times launched a heartfelt plea to Macca to make a return to the Subscription Rooms after the Fab Four took to the stage way back in March 1962.

Our campaign is supported by volunteer director of the Sub Rooms, Hugh Phillimore, and now our story is being avidly followed by BBC Radio Gloucestershire presenter Faye Hatcher joined Hugh and Stroud Times editor Ash Loveridge to find out more about #getmaccaback.
