Forest Green U18s and former caretaker boss Jimmy Ball has left the club.
Ball,45, the son of former England World Cup winner Alan, was appointed caretaker manager following the sacking of Mark Cooper and swiftly rejuvenated the side – guiding them to the play-offs, which eventually saw Rovers narrowly beaten in a dramatic League Two play-off semi-final by Newport County after extra-time.

After the defeat, Ball made no secret of the fact he wanted the job, he said: “I’d like to be part of this project at this unique football club that’s innovative and brave in everything we do.
“If the club go a different way, I’ll respect the decision as that’s their prerogative. But I hope I get the opportunity to keep moving this project forward.”
A popular figure with the fans, Ball joined Rovers from Stoke City in the summer of 2020.
A club statement read: “Jimmy Ball has today left the club, and we thank him for his work.”
