Joe Quigley departs Forest Green

MOST READ

Forest Green Rovers have confirmed the departure of striker Joe Quigley, who leaves the club just one year after signing from Chesterfield under former manager Steve Cotterill.

The 28-year-old endured a difficult spell at the New Lawn, failing to score in 38 league appearances during the 2024/25 season. Quigley found himself on the fringes during pre-season, with current boss Robbie Savage acknowledging last month: “Quigs has been working hard, but at the minute, there’s a few ahead of him.”

A club statement said: “Rovers can confirm that forward Joe Quigley has left the club with immediate effect.

“The Club wishes Joe well in the next chapter of his career.”

Quigley’s departure marks the latest change as Savage reshapes his squad ahead of the new campaign.

Liam Sercombe is also expected to leave Rovers.
