Red Kite Solicitors hosted their latest WorkStory event at Stonehouse Court Hotel, with Julie Kent MBE as guest speaker.
Julie addressed the business breakfast audience, where she shared the emotional story behind her epic fundraising campaign in memory of her daughter Emily, who died at the age of three.
Under the umbrella of the Pied Piper Charity, Emily’s Gift is on a mission to raise £5000,000 in a year to help support children with cancer in Gloucestershire
Alice Chubb from Red Kite Solicitors said: “WorkStory networking had the privilege of hearing from Julie Kent MBE this morning to talk about her story and perspective on women in the charity sector.
“WorkStory is about ditching the sales pitches and bringing personal stories and motivations to the forefront of networking, and Julie certainly had plenty of stories to share.
“From setting up Emily’s Gift in memory of her daughter and working with the Pied Piper Appeal, to marathon-running, awards, fundraising, and public speaking, her passion is a force to be reckoned with.
“Those who attended have gone away to think about the impact they can have on their local charities, whether this be in time, money or expertise, and the relationships they can build to really make a difference.”
WorkStory will be hosting their next networking event in Cirencester on November 27th, hearing from speaker Danny Matthews from Short Story Ventures.
Danny will be talking about leadership, burnout, and the illusion of happiness and finding fulfilment in work and in life.
