Stroud Farmers’ Market is set to launch a monthly vegan food market.
Spearheaded by market manager Kardien Gerbrands, the vegan markets will start on Sunday, January 27th and will run from 10am – 3pm on every last Sunday of the month, Kardien said. ” Vegan treats will be high on the menu with sweet and savoury delights to take home and street foods available to cater for a wide range of tastes.
Kardien said: “Daisy’s Farm vegan café will be set up in the square and will be providing hot and cold drinks including Rave coffee and loose leaf teas plus a range of vegan cakes and savouries.
“The range on offer will include vegetables, vegan cheeses, preserves, baked goods, olives and falafels, fire cider, soups, samosa, beer and even Tuga Pastries, the Portuguese tart maker from the Saturday farmers’ market, will be there to promote his vegan tarts!
“It is an unusual time of year to start a new market, with mid winter not usually deemed ideal for trading, but we felt it was the right time to introduce a regular and permanent event for vegan shoppers and are looking forward to the market growing as the year progresses. We have over 20 traders for Sunday, so it will be a good start.”
