Mitchell becomes Rovers eighth pre-season capture as manger Robbie Savage and sporting director Mark Bowen make their mark on the squad.

Savage said: “Kairo fits our philosophy and adds another element to our crop of already impressive forward players.

“He’s a great capture for the football club – it shows the alignment in what we want to achieve here at FGR and I’m sure he’ll be a success.”

Mitchell, 27, spent two seasons at Spotland, scoring 14 league goals in both the 2023-24, and the 2024-25 campaigns.

An important member of Dale’s playoff push, Mitchell only missed two league matches last term.

Mitchell has made 164 appearances at National League level – scoring 43 goals and providing 10 assists with previous experience at the likes of Eastleigh, Notts County and Chesterfield.

He came through the ranks at Leicester City and has also been capped 19 times by his country, Grenada.
