A former member of a world-renowned electropop outfit is due to perform in Brimscombe tonight, Saturday.
Wolfgang Flür, part of electronic group Kraftwerk from 1973 to 1987, is bringing MUSIK SOLDAT to Studio 18 at Hope Mills Business Centre.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany, Flür became the third member of the band in 1973, replacing a drum machine. He was a member of the group from their international breakthrough with the album Autobahn (1974) and remained as they experimented with proto techno on albums such as Trans-Europe Express (1977) and Computer World (1981).
On support, with a DJ set is DMX Krew! Having released six full albums on Aphex Twin’s label Rephlex Records, DMX Krew’s position in the pantheon of electronic musicians is already assured, but he consistently knocks out top quality acid and synth wizardry. It’s a thrill to have him back on a Byrd Out bill.
Opening things up is Neon Pumps, followed by special guest Peter Duggal.
