Large police presence spotted near canal

A large police presence was spotted near the canal in Stroud this morning.

A number of police vehicles were stationed on Dr Newton’s Way, Stroud and officers made their way on foot to Capel’s Mill railway viaduct, which runs alongside the canal and the River Frome.

An eyewitness told Stroud Times : “I spotted five cars and eight officers at the scene from over the road at Waitrose supermarket car park.”

Stroud Times have contacted Gloucestershire Police for comment.
