Dear Editor,
Saturday and last night was yet another low in the history of Forest Green and make no mistake, Dale Vince’s side are in a relegation battle for sure.
The team are completely rudderless with eight defeats from their opening 11 games. Boss David Horseman and assistant Louis Carey have been hit by a raft of injuries, but this squad should be able to cope.
Horseman talks a good game and comes over well in the media, but I feel he gets an easy ride at times and searching questions now need to be asked. However, I would stick with him, but I must admit a tinge of jealously when seeing our arch-rivals Cheltenham Town appoint the erstwhile Darrel Clarke, a man with league game experience in spades.
My biggest gripe is the somewhat delusional stance from the club that the squad should be challenging for promotion. The team simply isn’t good enough and the lowly league status in the bottom two certainly suggests this.
I would be happy to see the club drop back to the National League and start again.
Dave Longstaff,
