Lightning pilot to speak at Wings and Wheels meeting

The next meeting of the Wings and Wheels Society, Dursley, is entitled ‘Flying the Lightning and its RAF Operations’.

Lesley Hatcher, a former RAF aerobatics instructor and cold war fast jet pilot, will be giving an illustrated talk on the iconic Mach 2 English Electric Lightning aircraft. The talk covers its operational aspects (pros and cons) in service with the RAF and Lesley’s own experiences of flying this dynamic aircraft.

The meeting takes place at Dursley Community Centre, GL11 4BX on Thursday 10th October at 8pm. All Welcome, £5 on entry, for further info: www.wingsandwheelssociety.org.uk

Bakery owner demands answers after £4,000 pothole damage

The owner of an independent Gloucestershire bakery is calling on Gloucestershire County Council to reconsider its decision not to compensate him after one of his business delivery vans sustained more than £4,000 worth of damage, which he says was caused by a pothole.
