Longfield Hospice takes sustainable step forward

Longfield, a community hospice providing compassionate end-of-life care, is proud to announce a significant stride towards sustainability with the installation of solar panels.

The decision to embrace solar energy not only reduces its carbon footprint and help in mitigating climate change but also results in huge savings on energy costs, ensuring more money raised goes to providing care and support to patients, loved ones and carers.

“We are thrilled to introduce solar energy into our operations,” said Clare Davis, CEO of Longfield Hospice. “This project reflects our dedication to providing high-quality care in a manner that is environmentally conscious and sustainable. It’s a win-win for our charity, our community, and the planet.”

The solar panels, being installed by a crew from Cotswold Energy on the grounds of Longfield Hospice facilities, will generate clean, renewable energy to power various aspects of the hospice’s operations, including lighting and equipment.

Longfield Hospice extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Severn Trent Community Fund for their generous grant, which made the installation of solar panels possible. “Their support has been instrumental in this project, advancing Longfield’s sustainability goals and allowing us to concentrate on what we do best – providing great care and support” said Annie Gould, Trusts and Grants Manager at Longfield.

The installation of solar panels at Longfield Hospice represents a significant milestone in the organisation’s sustainability journey. It underscores Longfield’s ongoing commitment to excellence in care delivery, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.
