Longfield launches Big Hearts Appeal

Longfield Hospice is proud to announce the launch of the Big Hearts Appeal, a heartfelt initiative aimed at raising vital funds to support patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families and a wonderful way to show you care.

Donate to the appeal in celebration of someone you love, and Longfield will dedicate a heart-shaped plaque to that special person. Each heart can be personalised with a name or short message and displayed on Longfield’s eye catching wall of hearts, at the hospice in Minchinhampton. You are welcome to visit and view the heart, where it will be on display for a full year.

Each heart will celebrate someone special AND make a real difference to local families who urgently need our support. Funds raised through the Big Hearts Appeal will help Longfield provide our expert end-of-life care, wellbeing support and bereavement services, free of charge, to patients and their family members.

Sandra received support from one of Longfield’s experienced counsellors and attended a bereavement group, she shared “After John died I was struggling. Counselling has helped more than I could ever have imagined. I can’t stop telling people what an amazing place Longfield is.”

A £25 donation could cover the cost of fuel and a counsellor’s time to provide a counselling session at home for those that find it hard to travel – ensuring nobody has to be alone in challenging times.

“Every donation to the Big Hearts Appeal brings us closer to our goal of ensuring that no one faces their illness or bereavement journey alone,” said Kirsty Murray, Fundraising Manager of Longfield Hospice. “Our services rely heavily on the generosity of our supporters, and we are incredibly grateful for every contribution. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve.”
