Longfield patients asked to contact hospice

Longfield Community Hospice is asking patients on their waiting lists to get in touch following a security issue at its clinical software supplier.

Advanced Healthcare Systems, Longfield’s clinical records software supplier, recently experienced a disruption to their systems following a cybersecurity attack, resulting in the hospice team being unable to access electronic patient records for people on its waiting lists.

Sue Parris, Director of Care, explained: “Please be assured that we’re working as usual to provide our services – the attack has had minimal impact on our day-to-day operations, both in the hospice and the community. However, we are concerned that some people were expecting to hear from us.

“We are currently trying to retrieve deleted emails from previous email referrals which will help us with names, contact details, and clinical information. I can confirm that no data breach has taken place at Longfield and that all existing records remain secure and intact.”

Patients currently on the waiting lists for wellbeing and counselling sessions, who are waiting to hear from Longfield, are encouraged to contact the hospice on 01453 886868 or to email wellbeing@longfield.org.uk
