Sunflowers Suicide Support is making trusted suicide support information easier to find in pubs, sports clubs and social venues across Gloucestershire through a new county-wide awareness campaign.

As National Suicide Prevention Month draws to a close, Sunflowers Suicide Support is extending that awareness beyond September through a county-wide campaign that places clear, discreet suicide support information in everyday venues where people already feel comfortable and spend time.

The Gloucestershire based charity plans to distribute specially designed beer mats, supported by posters, to independent pubs, sports clubs and social clubs across the county.

The materials will share Sunflowers’ contact details alongside trusted crisis-support numbers, helping people find support privately and in their own time. The campaign prioritises a diverse range of venues that reach adults across different communities, including people who may be less likely to seek help, while ensuring broad geographical coverage across Gloucestershire.

Sunflowers supports children, young people and adults who have been bereaved or affected by suicide. The charity has seen a significant increase in referrals over the past 12 months and continues to experience high demand for its support services, underlining the importance of making reliable help easier to find across local communities.

Hannah Bradley, Funding and Relationship Manager at Sunflowers Suicide Support, said: “We know that asking for help can feel difficult. By putting clear, trusted information on something as familiar as a beer mat, we can make support more visible without asking someone to start a conversation before they are ready. A small prompt in the right place could help someone find Sunflowers or urgent support at the moment they need it.”
