Talented home baker Faye Merrix-Jones will open her business at Stroud’s Five Valleys shopping centre in September.
Faye has built up a reputation among friends and family for her talent for delicious and imaginative occasion cakes. Now she’s launching her Kitchen Witch Cakery business at the Five Valleys market which can be found in the heart of the Stroud shopping centre.
Faye has come up with a stunning and contemporary hot pink and black design concept for the new business which will be based next door to Alfonso’s Gelateria and close to Bon Macaron at the busy town centre market. She plans to bake and decorate her stunning cake creations to order as well as selling a range of cupcakes and cake slices along with specialty teas.
Faye said: “I have always baked cakes for friends and family for birthdays and anniversaries, and over the last year have started to grow my business. This just really seemed like the right time and the right location to take the step into having my own place. My children have reached an age now where I feel really ready and I’m so excited to be launching the business to a wider audience.”
Faye makes all her cakes and sweet treats with a focus on local and ethically sourced ingredients. She’ll be using Gloucestershire flour, eggs and dairy products and sourcing sustainable or regenerative products where possible.
The Kitchen Witch Cakery will have a seating area for customers and is in the perfect position for shoppers to sample Faye’s delicious bakes. The unit is now being transformed ready for opening at the end of September.
Faye added: “It feels right to be in the market area with other dessert and patisserie businesses, there are some fantastic traders at Five Valleys and I am really excited to be joining. When this unit came up it felt like it was meant to be. The centre has a lovely feel to it and I’m looking forward to showing our unit to my new customers – we have gone for a sophisticated but fun design.“
Centre Manager at Five Valleys, Erica Malpass, said: “Faye has a fantastic design for her new business here at Five Valleys and we can’t wait to see the finished look when the Kitchen Witch Cakery opens.
“Five Valleys Market is a great place to grow and establish a business and we are really pleased that Faye has chosen our centre for her new venture.”
The Kitchen Witch Cakery joins a great line up of traders at the Five Valleys Market including Armadeli, The Artisan Baker, Knights Artisan Butchers and Seafood and a great range of food to go street food.
