Maidenhill School has met the Expected Standard in every expected area under Ofsted’s tougher new inspection framework, with safeguarding standards also fully met.
The report strongly praises the culture and ethos of the school, stating that “a sense of warmth defines the Maidenhill School community” and that “the school’s culture is based on warm and respectful relationships.”
Inspectors found that pupils “feel happy, settled and safe”, “typically behave very well” and learn in calm and respectful classrooms. The report also highlights the strength of pastoral care, noting that “staff provide pupils with high levels of pastoral support” and that “many parents say that support from staff has enabled their child to flourish.”
Ofsted also recognised the impact of the school’s leadership, stating that “school leaders have acted decisively to improve the school’s culture and ethos” and that leaders have created “a kind and compassionate school community where pupils have a voice.”
The report describes Maidenhill as a school that “has improved steadily”, adding that leaders “demonstrate a principled approach and take timely and purposeful action to improve pupils’ experiences.”
Staff culture was also praised, with inspectors reporting that “staff feel incredibly well supported”, are proud to work at the school and are committed to driving further improvement.
Headteacher Andy Hunter said: “Ofsted has recognised the warmth, care and high expectations that define Maidenhill. We are especially proud that inspectors saw a school where pupils feel safe, valued and supported, and where staff are deeply committed to helping them succeed.
“We are also delighted that the wider improvements made across the school are now translating into stronger academic outcomes. This report reflects the hard work of our students, staff, governors and families, and gives us a strong platform for the next stage of Maidenhill’s development.”

Maidenhill will open it’s doors to prospective students as part of its Open Events beginning with its Open Evening on Wednesday 23rd September from 5pm and Open mornings from 9:15 on Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th September as well as Thursday 22nd October.
