Man dies following serious collision near Cirencester

A man has died following a single-vehicle collision which happened near Cirencester this morning, Monday.

Emergency services were called at 6.05am with a report that the driver of a car had collided with a wall on the A417 London Road in Ampney Crucis.

A 50-year-old man from the Cotswolds was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin are aware and being supported by specially trained officers.

Road closures which were in place on Witpit Lane, at The Crown at Ampney pub and Cherrytree Lane crossroads while collision investigators examined the scene have now been lifted. 

Investigating officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.
