How many people got an air fryer for Christmas? You’ve probably had time to experiment a little and now you’re looking for a more fun recipe to try, so here’s one of my favourites – Pizza rolls!
They are perfect for a quick snack and this recipe will save you time without compromising on any flavor!
Preparation time: 35 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 45 minutes
1 Pizza dough homemade or store-bought, 3 tsp olive oil, 165g pizza sauce homemade or store-bought, 2 tsp Italian seasoning, 115g grated mozzarella, 50 slices vegetarian pepperoni, and basil leaves for garnish.
Divide your pizza dough in half and on a lightly floured surface roll out two rectangle shapes approximately 10 x 12 inches. Using your fingers push dents into both rectangular doughs to prevent them from bubbling.
Brush both pizza dough tops with olive oil. Now spread pizza sauce evenly on your dough and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Next, add shredded mozzarella cheese and then lay the vegetarian pepperoni evenly on top, leaving ½ inch at the edge.
Now roll your rectangular pizzas into tight log shapes and place on a baking sheet seam side down and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.
Take your pizza logs out of the fridge and cut each log into 12 x 1 inch slices and then brush the exterior of the rolls with olive oil. Place them in the basket making sure they don’t touch, you will probably have to cook them in batches. Cook for 8-10 minutes, until they are lightly golden brown.
Serve immediately and garnish with an extra sprinkling of shredded mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and a dipping sauce, we love marinara sauce.
