In the form of his career, hot-shot Matty Stevens insists he has nothing to prove when Mark Cooper returns to Forest Green for the first time since his sacking.
Last season, Stevens’ career at Forest Green had hit an all-time low with the former professional boxer asking to go out on loan to Stevenage after limited game time under Cooper. However, the former Peterborough United striker has found his shooting boots under new boss Rob Edwards, forming a prolific partnership with captain Jamille Matt – sharing 21 goals from 22 matches.

“Mark Cooper isn’t in my head,” Stevens said after plundering his 13th goal of the season in Rovers’ 3-1 victory over Hartlepool on Saturday.
“A lot of people have asked me if I would love to score against Mark Cooper, but it’s just another game and a winnable one. I go into every game wanting to score and it would be nice to get a goal against Barrow.
