A Marling schoolboy was part of a stellar cast who just missed out on an Oscar at last night’s high-octane awards ceremony in Hollywood.

Endeavour Clutterbuck, 15, voiced the part of Flynn in Aardman production Robin Robin, which was nominated for Best Animated Short Film.

The 30 minute short, produced by Aardman for Netflix, also starred the voice cast of Bronte Carmichael (Christopher Robin), Adeel Akhtar (Enola Holmes), Golden Globe winner Gillian Anderson (The Crown) and Oscar nominee Richard E. Grant (Can You Ever Forgive Me?)

The short tells the tale of a small bird with a big heart. Raised by a family of burglar mice, Robin (Carmichael) sets out on a big adventure to steal a Christmas sandwich so they can all enjoy a real festive feast. Along the way she encounters a curmudgeonly magpie (Grant) and faces mortal danger from the villainous Cat (Anderson) who fancies Robin and friends as her own lunch.

Talented Endeavour, who also attends the Pauline Quirke Academy, has also appeared in the Netflix production The King, Sky show Agatha Raisin and other animations, including Paw Patrol and Rusty Rivet.
