Stroud boxer Max Mudway has been forced to withdraw from his welterweight fight with Basi Rasaq in Solihull after fracturing his hand during a sparring session.
Victory would have seen unbeaten Mudway fight for the English title.
Mudway said: “I am absolutely devastated to announce that my fight will not go ahead on June 10th.
“After another trip to A&E on Saturday, I found out that I have fractured a bone in my hand during sparring and with risk of causing long term damage and affecting my work if I was to fight I have to yet again make the tough decision to pull myself out.
“To everyone who has bought tickets you will get a full refund, just get in touch with me privately or DM me and I’ll arrange either pick up / drop off.
“Thank you to all of my sponsors for all their help up till this point and I just can’t believe that this has happened two camps in a row.
!I am absolutely gutted to say the least. I’ll be communicating with my family and my team to discuss the next move, but for now I’m going to lock off for a few days and get my head straight.
“Thank you very much for all your support guys and apologies to all the fans.”
