Muppets, models, and Mayhem are just some of the intriguing subjects covered by freelance designer and model maker Steve Allen in his fascinating show, coming to Marling School, Stroud, on October 3rd.
Encompassing his 46-year career making for TV and film, Steve will be bringing some well-known models, puppets and props will be with him, and the audience will have a chance to see them up close.
His journey from a painfully shy child to working on such classics as ‘Fraggle Rock’, prototypes for the film ‘Labyrinth’, plus designing new characters and Muppet merchandise will be explored together, with insider industry stories from Steve’s time working at the BBC, Hornby, 20th Century Fox, Pinewood Studios and even The Magic Circle.
Although Steve has enjoyed much of his dream career, it has not been without its challenges. Years of punishing deadlines and the resulting stress have taken its toll, and Steve will be talking about how he managed to survive the ordeal.
All funds from this talk will go towards Longfield’s work supporting patients and families through their journey with life-limiting conditions.
