We sat down with Claire Hitchings from Redkite Solicitors.
Claire is an associate for Red Kite Solicitors Residential Conveyancing Team.
You specialise in Residential Conveyancing, tell us how you got in to it
I started my career working for a local building society in the deeds department and enjoyed learning about the legal side of the deeds and what the various rights and restrictions registered on a title meant. I was fortunate to find that the building society were willing to sponsor me to complete my legal studies. I have also worked for a local authority and national house builder during my conveyancing career.
I am a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Legal Executives and am also a qualified Licenced Conveyancer.
How do you help your clients?
I try to assist clients every step of the way during the conveyancing process and have an amazing team of legal advisors to help assist me and our clients in order to reach their goals and make the conveyancing process run as smoothly and quickly as we can.
What are you passionate about?
I love reading through old unregistered deeds and during my time working for a local authority I assisted in the voluntary first registration of much of their land and properties. I enjoy reading the history of a property and still marvel at the intricate handwriting on old conveyances with not a spelling mistake in sight!
What interests do you have outside or work
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my young family and exploring the local countryside with our Labrador.
