‘Mixed emotions’ as popular shop set to close

A shop that provided a platform for craftspeople is set to close.

Weven opened at the beginning of December last year in George Street, Stroud, providing a showcase for craftspeople who use traditional techniques to sell their products. All the makers used responsibly sourced materials and work with an environmental and sustainable ethic.

Rhia Davenport, director and founder of Weven, said: “It is with mixed emotions that I let all you wonderful people know that Weven will be closing it’s doors on December 24th.

“It’s been a wonderful year at 21 George Street, but running the shop has become a labour – full stop – rather than a labour of love.”
