Motorbike, mountain bike and laptop stolen as crime spree sparks police appeal

Police are appealing for information after a series of thefts across the Stroud area, including the theft of a motorcycle, mountain bike, laptop and campervan battery, as well as a report of a man being disturbed while rummaging through a vehicle.

The incidents have taken place over recent days and officers are urging residents to remain vigilant and ensure their vehicles and property are secured.

One of the most recent incidents involved a man who was disturbed while allegedly rummaging through a car on Brimscombe Hill. The suspicious activity was reported yesterday and forms part of ongoing enquiries into a number of offences in the area.

Meanwhile, thieves made off with a white and orange KTM 250 motorcycle and a green Capra mountain bike after breaking into a shipping container on Westward Road in Stroud.

The theft is believed to have taken place sometime between 7am on Thursday, June 4, and 9.30am on Friday, June 5.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area, or who has information about the whereabouts of the stolen vehicles, to come forward. Anyone with information should quote Incident 116 5/6/26.

In a separate incident, an Asus Vivo laptop, headphones and a card payment machine were stolen from an Audi A3 parked in the London Road car park in Stroud.

The theft occurred between 7pm and midnight on Saturday, May 30.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in the car park during that time or who may have captured relevant footage on dashcams or CCTV systems. Information relating to this incident should be reported quoting Incident 301 4/6/26.

A further theft was reported in Home Orchard, Stroud, where a battery was stolen from a Volkswagen campervan.

The offence took place between 7pm on June 4 and 12.30pm on June 5. Anyone with information is asked to quote Incident 359 5/6/26.

Police are reminding residents to lock vehicles, remove valuables from sight and report any suspicious activity immediately.
