Motorists face ‘traffic chaos’ on The W

Motorists were faced with road chaos this morning, Tuesday.

Heavy congestion has been reported with angry motorists moving road closed signage and bollards as they wound their way up and down The W near Nailsworth.

The road is closed due to Gigaclear fibre broadband work and is expected to remain shut until October 2.

Nailsworth Computer Shop owner Paddy Coyle said: “It was a shame they did not inform the traders.”

One irate motorist, who didn’t want to be named, told Stroud Times: “This is really frustrating. I arrived at The W at 8.45am only to be confronted by rows of bollards. I drove up there twice yesterday and there was no advanced notice of the closure.”
