Police are appealing for witnesses after a mum was robbed of her handbag in Stroud this morning, Wednesday.
It was reported that the victim was walking along the canal on Dudbridge Road with her toddler in a pushchair when the incident took place.
At around 10.30 am she was approached by an unknown woman who asked for change to which she declined.
The victim was followed by the woman who then attempted to grab her handbag from the handles of the pushchair. The pushchair was dragged causing it to fall over whilst the toddler was strapped in.
Fortunately, the victim and her toddler were not injured during the robbery.
The stolen handbag is black, All Saints branded, has two straps and a silver zip. It contained a Mulberry purse, Cath Kidston pouch, blue iPhone 12 and keys.
The offender was described as speaking with a non-local accent and being of a scruffy appearance. She was believed to be in her early 40s and had messy dark hair.
She was of a very slim build and wearing grey gym-style bottoms with a black shell-style jacket.
Officers have taken part in patrols of the area and conducted CCTV enquiries however they would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
