A 100-year-old antique Father Christmas has been lovingly restored.

The Father Christmas and his trusted mule were restored firstly by Bill and Val Bruton of Bruton’s Hardware Shop two decades ago and the finishing touches were completed in time for this yuletide.

The model is thought to date from the 1920s and was previously on display in Miss Witchell’s sweet shop on the corner of Market Street, now Oldstone Restaurant.

You can see the model on display in the Civic Centre window on Old Market.
