Shortwood Reserves will compete in the Stroud League next season.

The Nailsworth outfit make the switch from Hellenic League Division Two West to Stroud League Division One.

Club spokesperson Jim Cunneen explained rising travel and electricity costs were a factor in the decision to switch the reserve side into the Stroud League.

“Our bills have gone up and switching the reserve side into the Stroud League from the Hellenic will save on floodlight costs,” Cunneen said.

“Our club strategy is about a pathway to the first team and this will give our successful U18s an opportunity to play at a decent level.”
